How much does a wedding dress cost?
At The White Gallery, we seek true luxury for all our brides. Our carefully curated, ethically sourced collections start from approximately $3000-$8000, with most falling around $5000.
When do I need to order my wedding dress?
Our goal is a harmonious bridal journey.
To ensure a considered and effortless experience when selecting your bridal gown in our Gallery, we suggest beginning your search 8–10 months before your wedding. Made-to-order gowns typically require 4–6 months to arrive, followed by 4–8 weeks of Bespoke alterations to achieve a couture-level fit tailored precisely to your silhouette. While some designers may accommodate shorter timelines through available stock or expedited orders, allowing yourself ample time creates a more relaxed, thoughtful journey—free from unnecessary pressure or rushed decisions.
However, we know every Brides timeline is personal, so please call/message us with any urgent requests. Our goal is to support every bride on their personal journey.
Do you sell plus size wedding gowns in Sydney?
We have a range of dresses for curvy figures, up to size 26.
Do you sell second-hand or vintage bridal gowns in Sydney?

What should I bring to my appointment?
Aside from your radiant self, we don’t require you to bring anything. We do suggest you browse our online Gallery to get a feel of our dresses and looks you may wish to try.
Nude, strapless, and seamless undergarments are perfect for your appointment. You are welcome to bring any undergarments or shapewear you may be considering, but these certainly are not required.
Most appointments are conducted barefoot, so dress shoes are not required unless you wish to see your total look.
We kindly ask that you wear light makeup to help keep our gowns pristine and free from marks.
What if I don’t know what type of dress I want?
Not all brides have a clear picture of their wedding dress, and that’s no problem. We can expertly guide you through our collection and make recommendations based on your style, your figure and the theme of your wedding.
Bring your people, and let’s have fun as we guide you through this process.
How many dresses can I try on?
Your appointment will last between one hour and 90 minutes. During this time, you should be able to get an idea of what suits you. Some brides only need to try a few dresses to make a decision, while others try as many as they can! We love to see our clients in a range of different gowns and will give our honest opinions on what works best.
How many people should I bring?
You know your people, bring your trusted inner circle. Our exclusive appointments can accommodate whatever that looks like for you. Typically, we see parties up to 4, but our Gallery welcomes all group sizes. Simply call or message to discuss your requirements.
What sizes are your samples?
Sample sizes vary by designers, but we carry a range from bridal size 4-1,4 with the majority being 8-12. If your sizing is outside that range, not to worry, we have creative ways of making sure you can experience the look of your desired dress! Our gowns are made to order, so depending on the designer, we can order from a size 0-26.
Do you have a cancellation or return policy?
The White Gallery specifically orders your selected dress in your size. The designer then makes that dress to your order requirements. As such, once ordered, all gowns are final sale, and we cannot offer refunds for cancellations.
What is the process of purchasing a gown?
Once you have found your gown, had your measurements taken and decided on the size, we will take a 50% deposit and order your dress.
Your wedding dress will likely take 4 to 6 months to arrive. Once it arrives, we will book you in for a collection appointment where you will try on your dress in store for the final time.
Every made-to-order gown will require basic alterations such as hemming and a bustle. The White Gallery will recommend a seamstress for these final touches.
Do you carry outfits for mother of the bride/groom, bridesmaids, prom or flower girls?
The White Gallery specialises in made-to-order wedding dresses.
What is a trunk show?
A trunk show is a phrase you will hear a lot while wedding dress shopping. It refers to a limited period when brides can view additional styles from a particular designer, beyond the ones The White Gallery has previously curated in-store.
In some cases, you will be able to see the entire collection. Trunk shows are by appointment only and tend to book up quickly due to their limited time, so book early to avoid disappointment. Sign up for our emails to find out more.
Will my gown need alterations ?
Yes, nearly every bride’s wedding dress will require alterations. The standard alterations required are a hem, bustle, and any other fitting tweaks. However, alterations can also facilitate any custom requests such as changing necklines, making different sleeve options, or adding additional beading or lacework. These alterations are carried out by third-party dressmakers and our brides are responsible for the costs of these. We will assist you in finding a dressmaker and with any other queries you may have through this process.
